/// Bookkeeper vs CPA?

So, what’s the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant (or CPA)?

Bookkeeper – handles the day-to-day transactions, ensuring they are categorized correctly, reconciles accounts, provides monthly financials, processes payroll, files quarterly payroll reports, files state sales taxes.

Accountant / CPA (Certified Public Accountant) – Gives advice on taxes and financial position, prepares state and federal tax returns.

  • Hi there, thanks for the great tips by the way. However, I do have a question that I
    think you could answer for me. I was wondering what is the best free bookkeeping accounting software?
    If you could give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it!

    • Hi! I would recommend setting up a ProAdvisor account with QuickBooks Online to get a free account for your own firm. Then you can add clients at a discounted rate.
